COMMUNITY GARDEN

The aim of the project is to integrate community gardening into the architecture as an intended gesture as opposed to an after-thought; a convenient use of leftover space in existing HDBs.

Breaking up the mass of the building, the surrounding green is drawn in, with the addition of retention ponds to collect rainwater for use of irrigation and to reduce surface discharge into Kallang river.

Not limiting the notion of green to be solely on the ground plane, green walls and roof are used to puncture and wrap the spaces within.
